Carafes are becoming increasingly popular for serving wine at home, and we're seeing these designs become more and more ornate and theatrical. But their main purpose should always be to expose your wine to the air, therefore allowing the flavours to more fully develop.⁠

If you don't have a carafe at home, you simply need to expose your wine to oxygen in plenty of time before serving, to allow the taste to develop. Pour your wine an hour or so prior to serving, or try giving it a gentle swirl to give it an infusion of oxygen.⁠

Every wine is unique and not all wines need time to breathe, so please don't hesitate to ask for advice on what your wine needs to be served at its optimum flavour.⁠
