The wine is fermented in stainless steel for 12-14 days and then aged in used barrique for six months. Barbera has naturally high acid, but this wine shows exceptional balance and is supple and layered, with complex earthy aromatics.

TASTING NOTES

Warm and robust wine, an intense and expansive ruby red and a fulfilling composite for every occasion due to its acidic freshness, its vinosity and softness. It can be drunk young to experience its pleasant fruit, but also after a few years to appreciate the structure and silkiness.

Pairings

This is a very versatile wine at the table and so it goes well with all courses. Great with pasta dishes, boiled meat, white and red meats, and aged cheeses, where it proves to be a popular wine, based on its original characters of quality soil and vines.

Guido Rivella

THE MAKER: GUIDO RIVELLA

The wines of Guido Rivella can be summed up in one word: perfection. As the winemaker for Angelo Gaja for 47 years, Rivella knows a thing or two about making outstanding wines. Guido Rivella began from a desire, from a dream, from the will to keep the memory of the forefathers alive, who dedicated their entire lives to his vineyards and the wine cellars. Rivella is in the heart of the Barbaresco wine area, surrounded by cultivated vineyards of Nebbiolo, in the small hamlet of Montestefano; a small family-run company with 3 hectares of vineyards.
