Josetta Saffirio, Millenovecento48 Barolo Riserva DOCG

£70.00

75cl

The Josetta Saffirio Millenovecento48 Barolo Riserva comes from a vineyard planted in 1948, just after the war. Since 2007, they have chosen a separate wine-making of this vineyard, because they realised the great potential related to the old age of the plants: roots that draw in depth and very low yields. From this vineyard they obtain about 1000 bottles, making this wine a rare find.

Vintage: 2013

Josetta Saffirio

THE MAKER: Josetta Saffirio

Josetta Saffirio was a pioneer. Back in 1973, at the young age of 23, she transformed the family business, that was selling grapes to other winemakers at the time, to a fully functional winery with her name and the famous gnomes as a brand.

Today the Josetta Saffirio cellar is a family business led by Josetta’s daughter Sara. The vineyards of the estate stretch over 5 hectares in the area of Castelletto (Monforte d’Alba). The family mixes traditional methods with modern techniques and practices sustainable and organic viticulture.
