TASTING NOTES

It opens to a dark and silky colour with pretty fruity accents of ripe berries and black currants and after shifts attention to mineral, gardenia, fern, aniseed and licorice notes. The sip reaches an high level of intensity and richness with silky texture and very long persistence.

THE MAKER: Podere Le Ripi

Francesco Illy fell in love with the picturesque Orcia Valley and Montalcino's breathtaking views in 1984. He found a special spot amid 133 acres of forest and olive trees that he now calls the place of a lifetime. Francesco explains: “The production according to biodynamic farming methods allows us to work in a particularly environmentally friendly way and to offer a product that is the true result of our terroir and the actual climate process”
