How are dessert wines made?

It’s all about reducing the amount of water in the harvested grape to increase the sugar content. Some winemakers concentrate the natural sugars. Others blend the wine with alcohol such as brandy.

More grapes are needed to create dessert wines, so they have a higher percentage of alcohol than other wines. This is why they are sold in smaller bottles.

“Daniel selected the most beautiful Nebbiolo from Piedmont which my partner and I enjoyed with a wonderful lamb dish for our anniversary. It’s the best wine I’ve ever tasted.”
